First off, great idea taking the side of Stephanie Meyer and Twilight. It's hard to find a positive comment about the Twilight series these days. I thought your article was well done in expressing your opinion on Twilight and how Stephanie was not, by any means, trying to become the next J.K. Rowling or Stephen King. So, bravo to that. However, since I must include constructive criticism, I must confess I did not like the line "Haters gonna hate". It was twitchy to me since it wasn't grammatically correct. Anyway, I REALLY enjoyed reading what you had to say. I think you had some really great points. Personally, I'm not a huge Twilight fan, but I do appreciate your willingness to express your opinion and stick up for what you like. Bravo! I found your article on the iPhone 4S quite interesting. Though it does a great job at exposing the pros of the iPhone, it failed to mention a few of its flaws. Along with the release of the iPhone 4S was the introduction of the iOS5. This new operating system, although tremendously spectacular, has a few inherent flaws, one of them being a heavy battery drain. Another issue of the iOS5 is the fact that it slows down earlier iPhone devices (3G, 3GS). I don't know if your article was meant to expose every aspect, both good and bad, of the iPhone 4S, but I thought I would throw some constructive criticism your way. That story about the animals being let loose in Ohio was incredible!! If I lived in that town, I would be terrified! I have never once heard of something like that occuring in America before! My biggest question is how did this Woman gain the rights to house a exotic Farm? Did the local officials even know about it? And how could she not notice almost 100 wild animals escaping her property? I would have loved to hear the answer to those questions! But it was a extremely interesting article all the same! p.s. I loved the reference to Wizard of Oz! (nice touch of imagery) (See Lions, Tigers, and Bears oh my! by Kaylen Thomas) Guest Writer Taylor Howell:
Your More Potter? article on the Hawkeye is awesome! First, it begins with a fabulous quote from J.K. Rowling. Next, you quote my friend Brandon, giving me, the reader, a personal connection to the article. Finally, the overview of the Pottermore website got me excited to try it once it comes out in October. Long live Harry Potter! (See More Potter? by Carolyn Webber) Posted 11/28 | Guest Writer Eric Proctor:
So I read your article about the massive changes that facebook might be making and I loved your article! In my opinion facebook makes too many changes... It seems like every time I log on there's something new that I have to figure out. Sure it's not hard to figure out, but I think it would be nice if they would just leave it how it is for a while. I look forward to more articles and reading some great hawkeye reports! (See Massive Facebook Change? by Eli Webb) Posted 11/3 Guest Writer Tysha Woods:
I like how you interviewed sophmores for their opinions so it does show how much of an eye opener it really is to the new comers. I would suggest that you interview girls who are seniors or have been on the team before, just so you can compare and contrast the two (second and third years to the first year girls) and see how things have changed as they got more used to it, or how things stay the same no matter how many years you are on the drill team. It's interesting to watch the occupy movement grow. What started out as a topic mostly avoided by reporters and the media that was specific to Wall Street only a couple has exploded into a global phenomenon. It's rather sad that the whole movement has turned to such violence, however, but if no one is going to listen to the important things protestors have to say, things must be done to make them heard. The attention is much needed and much deserved, I just hope agreements can be made soon before things get too far out of hand. This article was short and to the point, and I like that. It gets just enough across for the reader to make the proper judgment on the matter. However, I want to know more! More specifically, I want to know where the movement is going. Besides just drawing attention, what are the specific effects of the violence? Are they harming or helping the cause? It's anal and nitpicky, but i think that info would be nice to know. Great article, though. (See Occupy Wall Street Becoming a Global Phenomenon by Jaren Jolley) Posted 11/28 |
