Justin Bieber: A name known more for his face than his music. However, there is another name that you will probably start hearing on the radio. GREYSON CHANCE. This new sensation has made several appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has performed at the Hard Rock Café in Boston Massachusetts, and has his own YouTube channel.
Chance started out by doing a cover of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi, and he posted it on his YouTube channel. His brother then emailed Ellen DeGeneres and suggested that she should watch some of his videos. Ellen was impressed and invited him to her show to perform. Chance instantly became a hit! Ellen then agreed to help him produce his debut album ‘Hold On ‘til the Night’ and gave him a brand new Yamaha Grand Piano. During his interview with Ellen, Chance received a phone call from Lady Gaga whom the boy says is true inspiration. Chance now has many fans on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and many other social networking sites.
Chance was born in Wichita Falls, Texas and now resides in Edmond Oklahoma. He was born on August 16, 1997 and is 14 years old. Chance has been playing the piano since he was 8 years old and has had lessons for only 3 years. He has had no professional vocal training.
Of his inspiration, Chance said, “I love artists who are able to communicate their emotions through music and sing from the heart. That’s what I’m hoping to do with my songs.” He is emboldened by Lady Gaga; after seeing her performance of "Paparazzi" at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, he said, "I was awestruck by her performance. I love her sense of drama and theatricality, plus she’s an amazing singer and piano player." Chance is also inspired by Christina Aguilera, rock band Augustana, R&B singer John Legend, singer-songwriter Elton John, and John Lennon, of The Beatles.
His debut album ‘Hold on ‘til the Night’ is amazing. He has a big voice for such a little guy.
Justin Bieber is going to have some serious competition with Greyson Chance. Unlike Bieber, Chance’s lyrics are original creative, catchy and non-repetitive. This kid has what I like to call REAL TALENT. Look out Justin Bieber because here comes Greyson Chance.
