Have you ever gotten into a feud with your family? Well try playing family feud it is one of the most fun games you will play. You will be addicted in days. It’s so fun to see if you can find all the answers they are looking for and when you do you get a lot of coins. It’s not a game that a lot of people get but it’s one you should have on your phone or itouch when you are just sitting in class reading, Or even when you are sitting in a café waiting for someone to show up whom you are meeting with.

I’m sure many of you had heard of the new and exciting app for the itouch, Temple Runner! This swirling storm of addiction has now overcome the Alta High student body. Anyone with an itouch spends most of their time trying to improve their high scores or unlock new characters and power-ups. It has swept through I-tunes to become one of the most popular apps for this month. The reason for its success is its simplicity….. and the fact that it’s free. It presents a never ending challenge of running from some creepy looking apes, jumping over gaps, tree stumps, and ducking under trees and fire. The game continually becomes quicker making a good challenge for your reflexes. The game does have some fall backs, however, like how there are some combinations of obstacles that are impossible to complete at the high speeds the game eventually reaches. Overall it’s definitely one of the better apps out there and I highly recommend it.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade, you have obviously heard of Apple’s profit reaper, the iPhone. For those of you surface dwellers familiar with the iPhone, the abundance of applications, or apps, has surely intrigued, good or bad. And, despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of these “apps” plague our existence, there are a few elite, vastly popular applications. These apps are.
5) Camera + What’s that Lassy, Timmy’s stuck in a well? Let’s take a picture and post it to Facebook… Situations like this will only increase with the application Camera+. This App is like having your own little pocket studio, and iPhone owners enjoy this very much. Despite the fact that the built in camera app is one of the nicest phone camera’s available, iPhone users choose to pay for this enhanced picture taking application, usually just take snap and caption pictures of their pets.
4) Angry Birds Seasons It’s common knowledge that people love being productive, and therefore is no surprise that the 4th most downloaded App is the Angry Birds Seasons. Why should someone write their thesis, study for their BAR exam, or pay attention to another’s conversation when they could be launching cartoon birds out of a slingshot at poorly built wooden structures.
3) Angry Birds Yes, that’s right, of the few Apps more downloaded than Angry Birds Seasons, one of them is also an Angry Birds game. As I said previously, time is much more well spent defeating little carton pigs by hitting them with suicidal birds than pretty much anything else. I mean, why should I have to do work when I’m at work? Thank you Angry Birds, maybe people won’t spend themselves to debt if they’re too busy blankly staring at their smart phone for hours.
2) Amazing Breaker For the many who don’t appreciate the tedious nature of the Angry Birds series, Amazing Breaker is clearly not the game for them. For those unfamiliar with this app, just imagine Angry Birds except replace the birds with bombs and the houses with ice sculptures. This is truly another technological masterpiece and, much like Angry Birds, is a much better way to spend your time than on something like homework or friends.
1) Infinity Blade 2 Infinity Blade 2 does not fit the iPhone app stereo type. When searching the app store who will find a constant stream of poorly made arcade games until, that is, you see Infinity Blade 2. This application, developed by Epic Game Studios (Gears of War), is a full blown RPG video game. It involves quests, character creation, and leveling up. Despite my previously satirical views on the iPhone and all of its related products, I would give this game my honest recommendation.
Mitchell Peterson Techie Editor pyro.visual@gmail.com The APWH notecards app is well worth the 3 bucks. It is the easiest way to study with an ipod, iphone, or ipad. It is a way to study wherever you go, and not have the psychological affect of a giant book in your hands. This can cause many students to not even read the book at all. However, with an iPod or iPhone, you could do so while listening to Mozart (which helps you study). You could glance at just a sentance a day and that could make the difference from a 1 to a 3 on the AP test. Start studying and drive safely.

Have you ever found yourself wanting to own dragons in a magical land? I know I have! A great app that is being used all over the world is DRAGONVALE! It’s a little like zoo tycoon or roller coaster tycoon but a hundred times better!! There are so many different dragons that you can get from a sun dragon to a bone dragon. You can put them in tournaments and have them make babies, you can even feed them. Another plus is that they are so adorably cute! Well only when they are babies but still. The hardest dragon to make though is the rainbow, sun, and moon dragon but you will get them in due time. So go get your iPhone or itouch or grab your friends iPhone and download this game and join the rest of the world in collecting dragons, I promise you won’t regret it.
Ari Anderson Clubs Editor arianderson18@gmail.com Have you ever found yourself wondering where a friend of yours is at any given time during the day? Yeah, me neither. So I was surprised when an app called "Find my Friends" came out. This new Apple app, had attention brought to it, when a man found out that his wife had lied about where she had been, and was really cheating on him. This had all happened when the app had just been released. Find my Friends lets you keep tabs on your friends and familys' whereabouts. If you are interested in using this app, be careful and remember there may be people watching your whereabouts. However, the husband who used this App and caught his wife enabled it without her knowing. The people who follow your whereabouts have to request permission, before they can. This app may seem high-tech and confusing, mainly because it is. It is said to be hard to set up and navigate. It isn't exactly a social networking app, and is more of a utility than anything else. One advantage I can see to this app is with families. For example, if a mother and father ask their teenager to turn the app on so they can know they are safe and being smart. Although this is an invasion of privacy, it is sure to keep teens from getting in trouble. So as you can see, this app can be used for many different purposes. The question is, will this new app be a success?
